AU Evening Wrap: Australia Shares Slip 0.2% to Snap Winning Run
$S&P/ASX 200(.XJO.AU$ closed 0.2% lower at 7426.4, snapping a run of six consecutive session gains with losses in eight of 11 sectors. The volatile session fully rebounded from an opening 0.5% drop before slipping back to its session lows ahead of a small afternoon rally.
The real-estate and energy sectors were among the biggest losers, giving back some of the gains compiled last week.
The heavyweight financial sector edged 0.2% lower and materials was flat.
Health and consumer discretionary sectors finished higher following strong gains by one component stock. $Neuren Pharmaceuticals Ltd(NEU.AU$ surged 30% on positive trial results, while $Tabcorp Holdings Ltd(TAH.AU$ jumped 23% after securing a lucrative gaming license in Australia's Victoria State.
