AU Evening Wrap: Australia Shares Rise 0.5%; Gain for a Fifth Day

$S&P/ASX 200(.XJO.AU)$ closed 0.5% higher at 7555.4, its fifth straight session of gains. Materials led gains, rising 1.4%, and offsetting small losses in other sectors including information technology and industrials.

$Mineral Resources Ltd(MIN.AU)$ was a standout, rising 7.1% on higher lithium shipments. $Incitec Pivot Ltd(IPL.AU)$ added 4.7% on its plans to return around A$500 million in surplus capital to shareholders. $Domino's Pizza Enterprises Ltd(DMP.AU)$ was the worst performer, plunging 31%. $Sayona Mining Ltd(SYA.AU)$ fell 9.1% after saying it would review its North American lithium operation. $Coles Group Ltd(COL.AU)$ fell 0.9% and $Woolworths Group Ltd(WOW.AU)$ was flat after authorities called for a probe into the pricing behavior of the major supermarkets.
