Apple Aims to In-house Manufacture of AI Semiconductors for Data Centers - Report
The US Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Apple is developing semiconductors that run artificial intelligence (AI) tools at data centers. However, it is unclear whether this semiconductor will be put into practical use.
WSJ reported that this initiative is based on Apple's policy so far to manufacture semiconductors that operate with in-house products such as smartphones “iPhones” and personal computers “Macs.” According to WSJ, this project is internally codenamed “ACDC.”
The person in charge of Apple was reached for comment, but there was no immediate response.
