$Alphabet-A(GOOGL.US$ I held this from the $80-90 days, when chatgpt first came out. sold all of it today and not sure if I want back in any time soon. in the back of my mind, I always thought that it would have a lot to lose and not much to gain with this AI thing, but it just can't get it right, time after time it just shoots itself in the foot. my foot. no more.

102461859 : Every screw ups are buying opportunities, as long they don't hurt the fundamentals. LLM searches atm are not profitable to scale given its large computational requirements, that might change in future but truth is google still gonna dominate the search market for quite awhile and will soon have their v own ai bots to optimise their google workspace to compete w Microsoft
OceansWave 102461859: I gotta agree.. rem last year when Google messed up big time during their AI presentation and stock dropped down all the way to 80 - 90… well it managed to work its way up.. Google is a good long term stock… I do see this drop as an opportunity to buy…
You may ask how long it will be stuck in this range, I would not know… but give it 3 - 6months and it would reclaim back to its level of 150…
71351613OP 102461859: I held it when Google dropped the ball the first time announcing the product, when later they edited the demo of ultra, when chatgpt announced it is doing search... I held the stock, believing they had the ability to execute. I never doubted they had the capabilities, they have the cash, the ecosystem, the people to compete, yet they find a way to screw it up somehow. Sure they can fix the problem in a few weeks, but they are not leading with any excitement, just following others and being a me-too vendor. not to say this is not a profitable company with its existing products, just not measuring up to what I expect a tech leader to be.

I do believe the main problem with their ai products r not on on lack of capabilities, more of excess amount of red tapes introduced. I guess is not easy ro navigate a mega cap as opposed to small org like open ai
71351613OP 102461859: which leads back to my worry, they have little to gain, yet a lot to lose if all they do is me-too. and you just made another good point, people seem to be leaving Google to make more exciting products on their own, whatever the cause, and I don't know if what is causing this can be turned around in a quarter or two.
