6 months as a full-time trader

My journey as a small retail trader after the FTAP (Future Apprentice Programme by Bursa) has been a wild rollercoaster ride. Trading in FCPO futures (that’s crude palm oil for the uninitiated) was more like trying to ride a unicycle on a tightrope – and surprise, surprise, I took a tumble, incurring losses that made my wallet weep.
But then came my shining knight in digital armor: cryptocurrency. Who knew that digital coins could be so lucrative? My crypto investments and trades skyrocketed, giving me over 100x gains. I felt like I had struck gold in a virtual goldmine. Suddenly, Solana and MemeCoin were my new best friends – and much more generous than any pals I’ve ever had.
As if the universe wanted to keep my adrenaline levels high, the new Moomoo app launched, offering me a gateway to trade in the local stock market and even US stocks. With the enthusiasm of a kid in a candy store, I dove in, and voila! I managed to earn almost 20% returns (there is a bull run in KLCI beginning this year). Not bad for an app that sounds like it’s named after a cow, right?
After more than six months of trading highs and lows, I’ve reached a conclusion: to survive as a full-time trader, you’ve got to be like Bruce Lee’s famous quote: “Be like water.” You need to adapt, flow, and move to different markets where the order flow is strong – in other words, where the volume is. Whether it's futures, crypto, or stocks, the key is to stay flexible and agile.
So, here I am, six months later, still standing, still trading, and most importantly, still laughing. Because if you can’t find humor in the madness of the markets, you might just end up crying into your trading app. And nobody wants to see that.[Lol][Lol][Lol]
