Weekly roundup: Tesla's surge & cross-asset strategies

It was a week of narrow fluctuations for markets, with $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ staying within a tight range, moving less than 1% in either direction for five consecutive days. This subdued price action reflected a sense of caution, with $CBOE Volatility S&P 500 Index (.VIX.US)$ remaining above 20, signaling elevated market uncertainty. By the end of the week, $NASDAQ 100 Index (.NDX.US)$ saw a slight decline of 0.2%, while $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ dropped 0.47%. $Russell 2000 Index (.RUT.US)$, however, managed to post a small gain of 0.12%.
$Apple (AAPL.US)$’s plan to introduce AI-powered search options on Safari poses a significant challenge to $Alphabet-A (GOOGL.US)$, potentially undermining its $20 billion annual mobile ad revenue, which contributed to a $150 billion loss in $Alphabet-C (GOOG.US)$’s market cap. Meanwhile, Trump’s limited trade deal with the UK, which reduces tariffs on steel and cars while opening U.S. markets to UK ethanol and machinery, has boosted certain sectors, though it stops short of major structural changes. On the economic front, the Fed held interest rates steady amid concerns over slowing growth and persistent inflation, acknowledging the rising risk of stagflation.
As usual, let's dive into some of the standout contributions from our community last week.

ZnWC : Last week's market movements are dominated by uncertainty brought about by Trump's tariff policy. The US Fed refused to cut the rate and further escalated the uncertainty.
The uncertainty is not permanent. I foresee the tariff policy will bring both positive and negative consequences. There are many strategies to react to the uncertainty.
I prefer to take a long position. As long as the fundamentals of the company have not changed, the stock value will recover eventually. The question is do we have the risk appetite to wait for the recovery.
Just take Tesla as an example. We should be aware that some media has been negatively biased against Tesla due to political reasons. It is important to have a balanced view as the fundamentals of the company have not changed. The value of the stock cannot be just based on the P/E value and/or as a car making company.
