The last time UNH dropped like this was in 2008, from a peak of 47 to a low of 11, a 76% drop. We've done about 40% so far. If you bought at 47 in 2008, you would have made 1230% in Oct 2024. You would have had to wait 4 years and 3 months to break even.
If you bought at the bottom, you would have made about 330% in 2.5 years.
During Covid, the stock dropped by 39% from 283. The move happened with plenty of retracements along the way. UNH has never moved in this manner at any other time.
