What is a good CPU speed?

For most everyday tasks, such as web browsing, word processing, and media playback, a modern CPU with a speed of around 2.5 GHz to 3.5 GHz is sufficient. Such CPUs are commonly found in mid-range laptops and desktops.
For more demanding tasks, such as video editing, 3D rendering, gaming, or running virtual machines, a higher CPU speed is desirable. In these cases, CPUs with speeds of 3.5 GHz or higher, including those with multiple cores of site and threads, can provide better performance.
It's important to note that CPU speed is just one factor that affects overall performance. The number of CPU cores, architecture, cache size, and other factors also contribute to a CPU's capabilities.
