Annual changes to the Nasdaq-100 index: What happens next?

NASDAQ

The NASDAQ 100 Index, compiled by Nasdaq (Nasdaq), will carry out a “special rebalance” (special rebalance) before the opening of the market next Monday (24th) to redistribute the weight of constituent stocks to avoid excessive concentration of the index on a few major stocks.

Friday is the last trading day before the adjustment, and some analysts indicate that this may cause market fluctuations.

According to documents released earlier by NASDAQ, if a single company accounts for 4.5% or more of several companies with a combined weight of more than 48%, NASTER will adjust the index until their total weight in the index does not exceed 40%.
