Welcome to Canadian Mooers
A big hola to Canadians who have just joined the diverse family of moomoo users! It’s great to have moomoo adding Canada to the growing list of countries it operates in: HK, the US, Singapore, Australia, Japan and Malaysia. I am a Singapore moomoo user and I have been using moomoo app for almost 2.5 years.
The moomoo app may look intimidating to first-time users but give it some time and you will appreciate the many useful features it has. Feel free to ask questions and I will try my best to help even if I may not know all the answers. You can click on the top right corner and click Save to bookmark this post.
Below is just a quick overview for you to get started (there will be some country-specific differences in the user interface which I may not know of so do forgive me if that’s the case):
Me
At the bottom of the app are a series of tabs to help you navigate the app. One of these is called Me. This is where you can access Settings, Promotions, Task Center, Redeem Points and Help Center. Boomarked posts can be found at Saved.
Settings
This is where you can customise your profile pic and nickname (which is your moomoo ID by default), change your account and security settings (such as login and trading passwords), adjust the appearance of the app, community settings and chat settings. If you find you are getting too many notifications, you can disable the alerts in Notifications.
Promotions
Access your welcome rewards and other ongoing moomoo promotions from here. This is also where you can find exciting games that moomoo holds from time to time with attractive prizes to be won.
Task Center and Redeem Points
Sign in daily and complete tasks to earn points which can be redeemed for moomoo merchandise and other rewards.
Help Center
This is where you can search the help documentation and/or have a chat with moomoo customer service. Select Online Inquiry at the bottom to initiate a chat. For more details, see below.
Watchlist
You can set up a watchlist of stocks here. Simply use the magnifying glass at the top to search for the ticker symbol and click the small heart to add it to your watchlist. Note: It is not possible to auto-sort the tickers alphabetically.
Accounts
This is another tab you will use very often. Your cash and securities will be displayed.. You can hide and unhide the total asset figure by pressing on the eye icon next to it. More bring you to all the services you need to add your bank account, deposit, withdraw, do currency conversion, check the Funds Details, My Fees (fee schedule) and view your statements.
Markets
Check out the latest movements in the various markets using this tab. You can also screen for stocks and compare them using Explore > Stock Screener and Explore > Stock Compare.You can check changes in shareholdings of star institutions and find companies in upstream and downstream industries using Industrial Chain.
Discover
Moo - Get in touch with the moo community by writing your own post, commenting on others’ posts and joining discussion groups on a variety of topics. To look for a group, use the magnifying glass to search for the name and select “group” as the filter. I recommend Learn Premium Group and Options Learning SG which are managed by moomoo staff. If you are a fan of Youtuber Stocks With Josh, he has a moomoo group called StockJoshFam.
Learn - Explore the extensive library of educational resources such as tutorials and videos to learn more about investment.
News - Follow up on the hottest news in the stock market
Papertrade - For newbies, you can test out trades in simulated conditions without risking real money. Make sure it states Papertrade at the top before you submit any order.
