Tesla's market entry in Malaysia isn't new, and during this meeting, the pricing of Tesla's best-selling Model Y for the Malaysian market was unveiled. Tesla plans to establish a Supercharger network in 10 Malaysian regions, along with setting up a headquarters in Cyberjaya.
Although market rumors have speculated about a Tesla Gigafactory in Malaysia, we believe the chances are slim. Elon Musk's focus seems to be more on countries like Indonesia and India, which are rich in resources like nickel and lithium crucial for battery production.
As for today's rise in technology stocks, it doesn't seem directly related to the Musk-Anwar meeting. Instead, foreign investors' activities and the CPI data driving US technology stocks seem to be key factors. On a brighter note, we've noted an increasing recovery in semiconductor demand from China, signalling a positive trend in the tech industry.
