The Australian sharemarket extended its winning streak for the fourth day, as traders slashed their bets on the Reserve Bank raising the cash rate in August.
The benchmark $S&P/ASX 200(.XJO.AU$ rose 0.8 per cent, or 56.2 points to 7303.100, buoyed by gains in nine out of the 11 industry sectors. The All Ordinaries was up 0.8 per cent, or 61.7 points to 7517.1.
The interest rate sensitive technology sector was the best performing, it followed gains on Wall Street, up 1.7 per cent. $WiseTech Global Ltd(WTC.AU$ shares rallied 2.4 per cent, $Xero Ltd(XRO.AU$ was up 1.6 per cent and $Nextdc Ltd(NXT.AU$ rose 1.4 per cent.
Iron ore producers climbed as the commodity's price rose. $BHP Group Ltd(BHP.AU$ shares climbed 1.8 per cent and $Fortescue Ltd(FMG.AU$ was up 1.4 per cent.
Biotech $Neuren Pharmaceuticals Ltd(NEU.AU$'s shares surged 16.8 per cent after it signed an expanded licensing deal with its US distribution partner, Acadia.
