Wolfspeed secured another big order
$Wolfspeed(WOLF.US$ had just announced that it will be supplying $RENESAS ELECTRONICS CORP(RNECF.US$ silicon carbide wafer for a period of 10 years .
With the commencement of production for 200mm Silicon carbide wafer , this marks that Silicon carbide had just slightly pass beyond it’s infancy stage .
In the future not long from now, the cost of Silicon carbide will be going down and eventually it’s penetration into every end market will be increasing tremendously.
It is noteworthy that Wolfspeed’s exclusive manufacturing partner Carsem (MPI) is located in Malaysia. it is by far the largest Silicon carbide chip assembly and test manufacturer in the world, even renowned player like Infineon , STMicro , Bosch are also seeking for possible collaboration for the backend manufacturing with Carsem
