$SIA(C6L.SG$ : Yes, selling 1.85% shares is like dropping a nuclear bomb into the ocean, sending tsunami shock wave acrossed the globe.
Catching everyone with great surprised and puzzled. But why dropped the bomb with no apparent reason, killing it's own newly born infant before maturity.
My analogy is that simple, to prevent over speculation and over valuation. In other words, to provide gradual capital gain, instead of shooting up and down. Good for dividend earners, maybe.
Hopefully, my analogy is reasonable and justifiable. Correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.

明 MengOP Terra: Of course not. Bank fixed deposit is around 4%, whereas SIA dividend is around 5.3% base on 38 cents per shares for 1 year at $7.15
Terra : The fund managers will be fired if they ever deposit the funds in the fixed deposits
明 MengOP Terra: If the shares price is too far out of line with earnings, they will interfere again. But frankly speaking, I see this as a temporary knee jerk reaction only. The up trust is still very strong, unless the whole world lock down again.
