Alibaba Group Holding $Alibaba(BABA.US$ $BABA-SW(09988.HK$ recently announced in an all-staff letter that, with the approval of the board of directors, Jack Ma's successor as Chairman and CEO, Daniel Zhang, will step down on September 10th. Executive Vice Chairman Joseph Tsai will be the new Chairman of Alibaba Group Holding. Tsai was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States when he was a teenager. According to the Alibaba official website, Tsai is a licensed attorney in New York State, holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and East Asian Studies from Yale University, and a J.D. degree from Yale Law School. Tsai met Jack Ma in 1999 and co-founded Alibaba with him. He served as its Chief Financial Officer for 14 years and became the Executive Vice Chairman of the Board in 2013.
Analysts generally view Alibaba's senior personnel changes positively, believing that Tsai's appointment as Chairman will help boost investor confidence and assist the company in building bridges between China and the rest of the world.

ZnWC : Any change is good for Alibaba when the company has not found a breakthrough in the business. Alibaba share price remained flat -1.50% YTD.
I don't know if Daniel Zhang is going to revamp the e-commerce business (taobao) or develop new one. As a 'free and unfretted' person, I hope he'll be as influential as Jack Ma.
Daniel Zhang has experienced in finance sector but that should not make him less as CEO. Most importantly is his team and their innovative mindset. I wish all who invested in Alibaba all the best.
