2023 Half-Year Recap: Gains, pains and how do you reset?

Congratulations on making it to the midpoint of 2023! It's time to reflect on your trade experiences, strategies, stories, and memories within our vibrant moomoo community. The first half of 2023 was marked by resilience, uncertainty, and change.  The Nasdaq index excelled, surpassing the S&P 500 and Dow Jones with an overall gain of more than 20%. However, there was some ambiguity surrounding Federal Reserve interest rates as the market speculated the possibility of a rate reduction or pause. Additionally, the US banking sector faced liquidity issues, which had a particularly harsh impact on Silicon Valley Bank and led to a decline in several banking stocks since March.

  • JL-不亏就是赚 : $Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (FFIE.US)$ buy at bottom

  • The Cow King : As what warren buffet once said.
“fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.
    Look at $Intel (INTC.US)$
Not to buy crap stocks even when it is cheap $Mullen Automotive (MULN.US)$
Stay away from companies with bad reputation

  • No_Horse_Run_4896 : I like every little bit from moomoo. From the lesson plan till the interaction of all the moomoo user, it make investment fun and progressive at the same time.
No other platform can compare to moomoo undefined

  • RickPANDA : Pandas H1 Investing Lessons: (1) The importance of 6Months Emergency Funds in investing. Or else you will cash-out either good times (lose more returns) or bad times (unable to recover from losses). So no matter what. Build 6Months Emergency Funds first is a must. (2) Forget about stockpicks or stocktips. Forget about penny shares. You either dump all excess savings into one QQQ or split into the 5Big (AAPL MSFT META TSLA NVDA). Because Moomoo let me prove my theories in paperfolio.

  • 727727727 : my strategy hasn't changed in the first half of 2023 and won't change any time soon.  I invest in strong fundamentals, a good p/e ratio, and a positive outlook.  No meme stocks, nothing Kramer recommends, and no companies that have declared bankruptcy.  Also no company where the board is dumping shares!

  • GANGSTER : Over the past few months, I have embarked on a thrilling trading journey that has provided me with valuable experience.
My dedication to learning and implementing  trading strategies here has allowed me to sometimes achieve a profit, and also learn from my occasional losses.

One particular trade that stands out in my recent journey is the one where I finally effectively traded a call option and was rewarded with a profit. The indicator I used
to predict was technical analysis. I identified
a favorable entry point and set a profit target.
Then, with discipline and patience, I monitored the market closely, adjusting my stop-loss and take-profit levels. As the trade unfolded, I stuck to the plan and exited at the opportune moment, locking in a profit.

Trading also comes with its fair share of challenges, as demonstrated by a recent loss. It served as a valuable lesson reminding me of the importance of risk management and adaptability. Despite the setback, I analyzed the situation critically, identified areas for improvement, and adjusted my strategy accordingly. This experience reinforced the significance of maintaining emotional discipline and adhering to a trading plan.

In summary, my recent trading experiences have been marked by both successes and setbacks. Each trade has provided me with valuable insights and learning, enabling me to refine my skills as a trader with a  commitment to learning and improving.
I am confident that my trading journey will continue to result in more successful
    trades in the future.

Thanks, Moo Moo, for all the great training !

  • Highcold : Investors should pay close attention to the latest market trends and price trends to understand the performance of these stocks in order to make wise investment decisions.

  • 151776182 : Nvidia earned 180 times more calls and missed out on Tesla's current wave

  • webguybob : I just started my account about a week and a half ago, spending my biggger percentages on NVDA and TSLA.  Not a bad start.

  • GodSpeed289 : Well,  i shall adopt wait and see approach.  US- China relationship seems to turn sour. There was no ending of war in sight. 2023 will be a tough year to be for investors out there.
