Singapore Airlines $SIA(C6L.SG$ has been a top performer in the airline industry, with its stock price up 32% in the past three months. The company's record profits can be attributed to pent-up demand as travel resumed after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. Analysts predict further growth potential for the shares, which are still trading 45% below their all-time high set in 2000.
Singapore Airlines' investment in premium brandings, such as offering free Wi-Fi in all cabin classes, has helped it stand out from competitors and win market share. With passenger traffic yet to reach pre-COVID levels and expectations of rising travel demand from China, the future looks bright for Singapore Airlines.
It could be a buying opportunity for long-term investors as the airline's stock is still trading below its all-time high. However, before making any investment decisions, investors should also consider potential risks to the airline industry, such as high fares and the threat of recession.
With Singapore Airlines' stock on an upward trend and still below its all-time high, do you see this as a buying opportunity for long-term investors? How do you think the expected rise in travel demand from China will impact Singapore Airlines' future earnings and stock performance?

Moogoorooloo : Travel demand is rising and SIA is one of the main benificiaries of this trend. There is definitely room for the share price to rise further in the near future.
Having said that, SIA is a cyclical stock that is affected by both economic cycles and fluctuating fuel prices. Is it a good stock for long term investment? I don't think so. Is it good for medium term investment? Definitely, as long as entry is before the peak of the cycle.
Balmung 103968652: Only money in excess of $20,000 in your OA and $40,000 in your SA can be used for investment under CPFIS. In addition, you can only invest up to 35% and 10% of your investible savings in stocks and gold, also known as the stock and gold limits. Investible savings refers to the sum of your OA balance and the amount of CPF you have withdrawn for investment and education.
I am not sure for SA. I am only using OA for CPF investment
Balmung 103968652: To check how much you can invest, you can view your CPF Statement by: logging in to my cpf digital services with your Singpass > Select my cpf > My dashboards > Investment.
Chew SW 103968652: Depends on your age, above certain age can use your other accounts
