Why EV industry want White House to adopt Tesla's NACS over CCS standard ASAP

EV industry wants White House to adopt EV charging to Tesla's NACS standard ASAP because it has advantages over the existing CCS standard:
1. Tesla's stations charge faster than the L2 AC charging stations
2. NACS can use existing J1772 plug. GM and Ford EVs need aftermarket adapter to do so
3. NACS can support AC and DC fast charging

White House spokesperson Robyn Patterson said there are minimum standards for EV chargers to get public funding, but they need to be interoperable to promote competition. “Those standards give flexibility for adding both CCS and NACS, as long as drivers can count on a minimum of CCS.”
“I’m guessing that lobbyists from GM and Ford are talking DOE to get those rules changed ASAP,” Guidehouse Insights principle research analyst Sam Abuelsamid tells The Verge in an email.
Both Tesla and other EV standards were living in an odd coexistence in the US even before Ford and GM had dropped the news. The slower Level 2 AC charging stations, found in many parking garages and grocery store lots, use the almost ubiquitous J1772 plug that’s on all current EVs except for Teslas.
The adapter actually highlights a benefit in Tesla’s NACS design, in which a single lightweight port supports both AC and DC fast charging. That’s in contrast to CCS1, which is a bulkier connector that essentially fuses together J1772 and DC power pins and takes a good amount more real estate on the outside body of an EV.
