This is Apple's highest-end desktop computer, the first Mac Pro to use its own chips, and the last Apple computer to use its own chips instead of Intel. Apple says the new M2 Ultra chip is the "king of chips".
It will be equipped with the M2 Ultra's 24-core CPU, support for up to 76-core GPU, eight Thunderbolt 4 ports, and up to six of Apple's high-end Pro Display XDR ports.
Some analysts say this is a game-changing move for high-end Apple computers, as it ends reliance on $Intel(INTC.US)$ chipsets.
