BULRUN : The pump is becuz ford collab with tsla to share the superchargers. This means ford recognised tsla as a potential rival. Also by doing so tsla is eligible for tax reduction which will improve margins

TeslaSmurf BULRUN: Ford didn’t recognise Tesla as a “potential rival”… Tesla has NO rivals (except BYD, but in other segments of the market until the 4 million Mexican factory starts cranking the 25K car). Ford had his stock at the lowest price and needed desperately a boost. THEN they have no money, nor time, nor expertise to develop the software, the charging network, the on-the-air updating system and self driving capabilities. Tesla can give Ford some of that for a reasonable convenience but that also means that ALL the others (especially GM and Toyota) are FKK’d. On a planetary level, I would add.
ZnWC TeslaSmurf: Elon Musk goes for win-win but his vision for Tesla is far beyond any EV companies can think. Tesla's rivals can only do catch up. As for BYD, EV sales is ahead of Tesla because data is based on NEV (BEV + PHEV) and support from China's market . Currently BYD's PHEV demand is dropping and facing emissions standard issue.
