UNHの今後の展望について

I am always indebted to you.
We are considering concentrated investment in UNH. The reason lies in ① investment returns that overwhelmingly surpass the S&P 500 ② high entry barriers that keep other companies at bay ③ a solid management foundation born from demand that never goes away. I would like to invest in next year's new NISA as an opportunity.
The importance of diversified investment is often discussed, but due to high stock prices and my economic strength, I would like to concentrate on investing in one company. Also, I'm currently 28 years old, so I think I can take the risk.
So, I would appreciate it if you could share Taro Buffett's wisdom on UNH's future prospects. Thank you very much for your support.

  • 181319346 : Could you tell me from what point of view do you think this way of thinking about barriers to entry?

  • のんさんOP 181319346: The private health insurance industry has a past where the health care service joint venture “Haven” (which was once said to destroy the healthcare industry), which was once established by the three companies Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and JP Morgan, was forced to cancel plans in just 3 years.
The reason seems to be that the industry did not reveal how to set insurance premiums or their own digital infrastructure, so Haven was unable to imitate that structure or method.
In other words, this industry has the potential to maintain a monopoly state that even the large companies mentioned above cannot compete with.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to respond.
Very detailed, isn't it? It's a learning experience.
I also looked it up, and it seems that high operating profit margins and ROE compared to competitors have been confirmed due to competitive advantage (although I haven't done a detailed investigation).
Seems like a perfect investment destination.
What I'm personally concerned about is the risk associated with political insurance system revisions?
If I get this far, I'll be beyond my ability to investigate, though.
If I have time, I'd like to read financial information.
    Thank you very much.

  • バフェット太郎 : I think United Health Group (UNH) is an excellent stock suitable for long-term holding. However, I think concentrated investment is more difficult than Nonsan thinks.

For example, there is a tendency for individual investors to assume that “you can become rich by concentrating on investing in one super excellent stock and then just gag the rest,” but I don't know any investors who got rich because of that.

In most cases, when perpetual stocks crash, the first thing is “It's a perfect place to buy!” Thinking about it, they aggressively repeat their purchases over and over again, but if stock prices don't recover for years, they gradually get tired of buying more, and the punch line is to run in dismay at the end and switch to another brand. (I've seen a lot of people like that.)

I don't know Nonsan's financial strength or risk tolerance, so I can't give direct advice, but I think it would be wise for many individual investors other than Non-san to keep in mind diversified investments in preparation for “ignorance of themselves” and “the risk that unexpected bad luck will occur.”
