Meta To Fire More Than 6,000 Employees In The Next Round Of Layoffs Next Week
$Meta Platforms(META.US)$ The most recent round of layoffs at Meta is about to get underway as the business's president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, has notified workers and others during a company-wide meeting that the company would soon begin this round of layoffs.
This should not come as a surprise given that Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, had recently revealed that the subsequent wave of layoffs would take place in May of 2023.
According to the source that was referenced, beginning the next week, Meta would begin firing anywhere from 6,000 to 8,000 of its workers. In November, the business laid off 11,000 employees and announced plans to lose another 10,000 jobs in March of 2023. The parent corporation of Facebook, Meta, has let go of 4,000 workers, which means that there are 6,000 more individuals on the list of those who will be asked to leave in May of this year.
