JoejjOP bwjx: China and US adr price are very close. Because they are convertable. If baba US for example jump up, HK baba also will follow behind. They are constantly on a tug of war pulling and pushing each other. If difference is too wide, someone can convert for a profit. So price is close.
b34r : ADR - "American depositary receipt" - it's American money. If outflow of funds from China is blocked it means less money for ADRs.
Macdonell J : China investors cannot buy Alibaba Hong Kong shares as Alibaba is not primarily listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Hence it's not qualified under the Stock Connect channels where the Chinese investors could trade the Hong Kong stocks through.
