Buzzing Stocks List & Mooers Comments
U.S. equities experienced a sell-off on Friday following the release of weaker-than-expected economic data. A significant measure of consumer sentiment plunged to its lowest level since November, intensifying concerns among investors. Adding to the downturn, bank stocks extended their decline from the previous day. Meanwhile, crude oil futures faced a slight decrease throughout the week due to mounting worries about a potential recession and reduced demand. The price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude, considered the benchmark for the U.S., closed the Friday session near $70 per barrel. (As of May 15, 2023)

  • Chomel : Look out for the 5 key figures when analyzing earnings report during this season.
    1. Revenue- A growth in revenue is a sign of company growing in its business order. If you see a decline, think deeper to understand why.
    2. Profitability- High profitable could mean good businesses with better margin. If a company is loss making, better than twice as it could mean that they are not doing well.
    3. Expenses- High revenue doesn’t always translate to high profitability. The overall cost of the expenses is critical. This shows how well a company is managing their operational cost which could derive on how profitable they are.
    4. Debt and Cash flow- Understand their gearing ratio and existing obligation to that could impact their financial health. One could mean that a company with a higher gearing could pose a higher risk if the company were to face various headwinds. You would prefer to see a healthy positive Cash flow than a negative one.
    5. Management Outlook- Market sentiment and confidence level of its businesses, moving forward.

  • Milk The Cow :

  • Milk The Cow : I focus on Revenue,profits,FCF,asset,liabilities...

There're others too but are less important.

However, do note that earning reports may not 100% reflect the stock price movement. Sometime good report earning does not mean stock price should rally like crazy.
I think the economy growth rate is slowing down so, even with better than expected earnings, I may not even buy in for long Emm.
But, I think it will be good for trading in this season, although I don't really recommend (Just my view) Trick~

  • Landlordb1 : $Marathon Digital (MARA.US)$

  • 727727727 : I've always found the most interesting part of earning statements to be the forward looking revenue projection revisions.  Regardless of current quarter results, revising next Q or Y expectations up or down can tell you a lot about whether or not it's a good time to enter or exit a stock.

  • cola1010 : Investors should focus on key factors such as revenue and revenue growth, earnings per share (EPS), net income and profit margins, expenses and cost management, cash flow and debt levels, dividends, and company KPIs when analysing earnings reports. Investors can acquire insights into a company's financial health, profitability, growth prospects, and industry placement by evaluating these key factors, helping  to make informed investment decisions.

  • 102392341 : I would look at these key metrics such as revenue, expenses, profit, debt, and cash flow to understand the company's overall financial health.
