Shareholder mindset: Do you consider yourself a part-owner when you invest?

Hi, mooers!
Let's talk about shareholder mindset. It is a mindset that emphasizes the relevance of a company when making investment decisions. The technical definition of a shareholder is someone who owns shares of stock in a company. We wonder whether you consider yourself a shareholder when making investment decisions.
Perhaps, the shareholder mindset motivates you to be a part of the company, focusing on its annual returns, financial performance and corporate responsibility, among other things.
Or, the shareholder mindset just makes you feel that you are a part of the company, regardless of how small your investment is.
Either way, we believe that you have plenty to share.
Feel free to share stories about:
The reason why you invest in a particular company
Your first investment in a company (Did the investment turn out well or suffer a setback?)
A memorable experience of investing in a company
Buckle up, mooers! Get ready for the exciting stories and rewards!

  • 70227526 : I consider myself a part owner when I invest.

My investment mindsets are I want to invest in the companies which are located at the area I am living and to be the owner of the companies which I know them and familiar with them.
The reasons are very simple. I can talk to their employees and visit these companies.  I will be able to get to see and experience the growth of these companies firsthand. For those reasons, I have invested in two companies 20 +years ago. Two companies are located at my area. At that time, stock prices were $21 and $75 respectivily. During 20+ years, stocks have been up and down. I haven't been influenced by market and hold these stocks all the time. Now those stocks are $100+ and almost $300 respectivily and also have very good dividends. I belive these companies have very strong fundamentals and will continue to grow.

I will continue focusing on these companies annual returns, financial performances and corporate responsibilities. I am a part of those companies, regardless of how small my investments are.

  • 727727727 : the first stock I ever bought was $Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ over 20 years ago with an entry point of just over $21/share.  Right after the released windows XP I looked around and figured they pretty much sewed up both the business and home computing segments.  I still owe those shares (in my Roth IRA) and still sell covered calls every month to boost profits.  they've flattened a bit lately, but they also pay a healthy dividend, so I don't see selling any time soon.  I'm going to LOVE not paying taxes on the profits when I eventually liquidate, god bless the Roth IRA 😁!  I'd post a pic, but it's at a different brokerage.

  • Ben Goh2 : well , yes and no in Moomoo. yes , we do get dividend as a share holder.
no as in it is under our account which share belong to moomoo platform.
mixed feelings but appreciate the support from the platform for us to have a genuine chance to own some shares and earn passive from it

  • Kmoney125895dz37gfdw : Absolutely without a doubt yes. If not then what's the point of purchasing at all. I dictate weather to hold trade or sell . All attributes of a owner...

  • TTicker : When I invest in a company my primary focus is making money make money… in order words I invest to be an Owner so I get a share of profits (and some non profitable companies still pay profits - I had to find out the hard way about dividend traps 🪤 undefined).
The sad part is I don’t remember the first company I invested in because of fractional shares… I put in $10 here $5 there $20 everywhere undefined. But I have always loved AT&T $AT&T (T.US)$    and I want to say that was the first company - and the dividend paid more than a Dividend Aristocrat/ King… and did I say I loved the initials undefined.
When I would get my hair braided I would say “ I am AT&T, I have more extensions than MCI or SPRINT, and if you tick me off - I might have to reach out and TOUCH YOU!” undefined

  • Jackosen : First company that i have invested is Apple. As a shareholder, i feel more concern if the company business is not doing well. Luckily, it proved to be a good long term investment as the share price is still holding strong.

  • TLim77 : As an investor, I don't look at a company just based on it's current share price. I would look at it's underlying business and whether it has the potential to do well moving forward. For local listed companies, I would try to attend their AGMs to have better insights about the companies. There are instances where I sold the company shares or bought even more shares after attending these meetings. Definitely as investors, we have to look at ourselves as business owners who participate in the growth of the companies and not just some ticker codes with prices.
