The $S&P/ASX 200(.XJO.AU$ added 0.1 per cent, or 6.8 points, to 6962 on Monday, led by the utilities and real estate sectors.
$Lake Resources NL(LKE.AU$ sank 13.5 per cent to 41.5¢ after its non-executive chairman Stuart Crow sold a chunk of shares last week.
$Premier Investments Ltd(PMV.AU$ fell 2.5 per cent to $$24.70 after posting record first-half sales and dividends.
$Bank of Queensland Ltd(BOQ.AU$ closed flat at $6.40 following the appointment of Patrick Allaway as chief executive. All four major banks advanced.
$Ampol Ltd(ALD.AU$ dropped 1.2 per cent to $$29.87 after warning that an outage at its Lytton refining operations could hit its earnings by up to $50 million.
$Tyro Payments Ltd(TYR.AU$ firmed 2.1 per cent to $1.44 after confirming it is still in talks with Potentia about a possible change of control transaction.
