Together let's beat the scammers

So there have been a lot of busy scammers out there lately, and I'm sure if you chat to various people and add new friends, you've also received a few 'invitations' to chat outside Moomoo. There's no real reason and you don't know the person.. this can be a good indication of a scammer. If you say no, good chance they'll never reply... another red flag!
The unlit trading badge is another indicator. Honest newcomers are often unlit also so that doesn't automatically mean fake. But if they are offering suggestions or 'advice' on tickers, and/or suggesting it is 'too inconvenient to chat on here' asking 'do you have whatsapp/wechat etc'... well that's a good indicator!
***Like any wide scam, sometimes many will work together on a few lines of communication or a few will open multiple accounts/lines of communication. This is always noticeable if you get a pm from more than one with the same messages almost word for word!! -often using the same versions of recycled phrases like 'inconvenient to chat here do you have whatsapp'
***Like any scam or scheme they often rely on the fact people are unsure when they are caught up in it, or embarrassed if they are caught out by it, so victims sharing the ways they have been caught out by a scam often come too late to help the next person.
This type of sharing is exactly the way to combat fake accounts! Knowledge is power so share it around 💪 If you don't wish to speak out on any public post, please contact Moomoo support and/or report the account you are unsure of.
This will help protect you, and us as a whole! Thanks to all real Mooers who make this community what it is 🙏
