Did Berkshire Hathaway report a great 2022 result?

So what has Berkshire achieved?

Berkshire Hathaway is a business conglomerate that is made up of many parts. Its bread and butter are still in the insurance business.

Insurance and others grew from USD 227.97 billion to USD 249.94 billion, a growth of 9.6% YoY.

Freight rail transportation revenue, Burlington Northern Santa Fe is Berkshire Hathaway's subsidiary in the railway business pillar. It grew from USD 23.18 billion to USD 25.8 billion, a YoY growth of 11.3%.

Under Energy's operating revenues, where Berkshire Hathaway Energy comes to play, revenue grew 11.3% YoY as well.

Based on GAAP, Berkshire Hathaway reported a net loss of USD 22.82 billion. Although most of its business verticals are profitable, after factoring in equity investment losses, Berkshire Hathaway's slumped into a loss of USD 22.82 billion.
