Earning an extra USD470 in 43days just by using the right tools. Knowledge is King!
In January this year, I talked about how we can use Moo Moo's cash plus to earn up to 16% return in this post above. Back then the total fund return (excluding the fund vouchers) is USD149.43.
Since the post, I had pumped in more money into cash plus to take advantage of both the 20SGD fund coupons, as well as getting ready for the big market crash - to buy more shares for cheap by selling PUT options. If you do not know what options are you can refer to this post Explained Simply: Options 101.
43 days laters, my total cash plus funds returns had ballooned to USD246.81, a 65.17% increase, and I've also collected USD370 in options premium from selling PUT options - to try and buy some shares. Thus, earning an extra USD467.38 in 43 days as compared to investors who don't use such tools (i.e. investors who are hoarding cash and just placing a buy limit order). This income excludes the returns from using Moo Moo's 20SGD fund coupon, which I will not reveal yet, but I assure you that "IT'S HUGE" ![]()

The $20,000 deposited for the event is now in $Fullerton SGD Cash Fund(SG9999005961.FD$ earning close to 4%, and this is the fund to be used with the SGD20 Fund Voucher that is redeemable in the Rewards Club.
The remaining cash is placed in $CSOP USD Money Market Fund(SGXZ96797238.FD$ where they are there on standby for me to fire my shots when opportunities arise, while earning close to 4% returns too.
So in the 43 days since, I had sold Cash Secured PUT on $NIO Inc(NIO.US$, $Palantir(PLTR.US$ and $Grab Holdings(GRAB.US$. Trying to get more shares when they are cheap, while at the same time lowering my cost basis constantly ![]()

This is how I turned a 44% loss into a 6% loss on Nio. I'm still betting on Nio as it benefits from the growing EV industry, and the upcoming China bull run. Leveraging on this bear market to buy shares of companies I love as mentioned in this posts: Love is sticking together through thick and thin, I'm choosing high growth company with no debt in this bear market.
Hopefully, these companies will survive this economic turmoil and when the bull market comes around again, it is time to PARTY!!! ![]()
