Invest safe in a bear market

How do you grow the courage to invest in a bear market?
If don't invest and leave your money in saving account, you'll still lose to inflation. Hence my investment goal is don't lose money, at least invest to reduce the impact of inflation. Here are some suggestions on how to invest in a bear market:
1. High interest fixed deposit (FD).
Based on Jan 2023 chart, best interest rate is 4.2% pa. Minimum sum is SGD 10k hold for 12 months. Each bank has their own T&C, check before you deposit your money in the high interest rate FD.
2. Treasury bill
Based on Feb 2023 chart, interest rate is 3.88% pa. Deposit period is 6 months or 1 year and subjected to successful bidding.
3. Stable Market money fund (MMF)
There are 3 funds that are relatively stable with 7-d positive yield.
$Fullerton SGD Cash Fund (SG9999005961.MF)$ 7-d yield +3.88%
$CSOP USD Money Market Fund (SGXZ96797238.MF)$ 7-d yield +3.98%
$BNP Paribas USD Money Market (LU0012186622.MF)$ 7-d yield +5.01%
No minimum sum deposit and holding period is subjected to subscribe and redemption period - about 5 to 7 business days depending on the fund you invest. Moomoo allows you to use points redeem cash fund coupon which will add earning.
4. Higher yield MMF
There are higher yield MMFs (change in 3 years yield 6 to 52%) which are subjected to higher volatility risk meaning you need to invest for long term. MMF price may drop and you'll make a loss if try to sell the fund in short term.
5. Government Bonds/Dividend stocks
Higher risk but higher return. You'll receive dividends while holding the bonds or stocks but subjected to higher volatility risk. Bond or stock price may drop and you'll make a loss if try to sell the bond or stock in short term.
Bottom line
The above investment may not beat inflation rate (core inflation rate in Dec 2022 is 6.5%) but they can at least reduce the impact. Personally I think the 2 great enemies in investing is fear (panic sell at a loss) and greed (gamble or buy high risk investment products beyond your mean). There are no shortcuts to grow your courage in investment - just keep learning and avoid fear and greed.
