TA Challenge: How to identify the turning point with TDS 9?
Views 701K Contents 84

Lots of TDS 9 Formations, Very Little Info

Pro: DeMark 9® (TDS 9) occurs frequently in charts, and is very easy to spot. Draws the eye to fluctuations.
Con: It occurs frequently, and indicates changes that may or may not have much significance. It also does not seem to correspond to a specific timing for change, sometimes occurring before and sometimes after the change.
Potential useful for a quick overview of historical data.  Not great for immediate indications. Best used in conjunction with other tools. I think MACD is a good start since it helps indicate the size of swings, and the crossing lines give an indication when a change is coming.
Chart below is $Ocean Power Technologies(OPTT.US)$ The TDS 9 patterns show both indications for significant events, as well as appearing with events that don't appear very important. Other significant shifts show no TDS 9 indicator.
