That’s a strenght, not a weakness. Tesla patents are open sourced… until they want to. Otherwise they wouldn’t even bother to get the patents. Imagine in 10 years, when many will be using Tesla’s patents and EVs are most cars sold. Tesla cannot revoke the use of its innovations, but can ask money for it whenever they want to. They don’t do it now because they want the whole EV sector to pump up as quick as possible.
