"Vote" for Bollinger bands
BOLL is my favorite TA tool. I am gonna show my reasons. However, I am still a newbie, and this is something I learned just a couple of days ago. So, correct me if I was wrong.
Generally speaking, the first time I learned BOLL, I was confused by its literal definition online. However, thanks to some vivid descriptions in moo's community, I think I grasped the basic understanding.
Adding the link now. These might be really helpful if you are still not clear about BOLL

OH, BTW, I think the posts by @bullrider_21are also constructive, especially the 3rd part. Take the theoretical knowledge into the actual "battlefield." (really help me a lot, thx)

$Apple(AAPL.US$ It might be helpful with an example here. As you can see, the upper line is leaping, and the lower line is going down, which might indicate that high volatility will come. Then, I focused on the middle line, which is similar to the function of MA, identifying the trend. There was a slight soaring trend of the middle line; I decided to buy. I am not sure whether this analysis is correct, lol.
However, I still have some questions, and I think many people would have gone through this experience when they're newbies.
Do you think that newbie investors should learn TA when they start investing? (like starting to invest money).
If not, is there something else more important than TA that newbies should learn first?

Everything has its limitations, so it is true for TA. And indeed, we should combine many indicators as well as other factors. (like the company's situations, etc.)
But things need to be done step by step. Therefore, when newbies learn TA, which TA tool do you think is the most newbie-friendly?
ANYWAY, correct me if there were any mistakes. I don't think TA is easy to learn and even more challenging to apply well. Hopefully, there will be suggestions

bullrider_21 : MA is the most basic and newbie- friendly, apart from support and resistance.
NANA123 bullrider_21: Can't agree more!
bullrider_21 : Thanks for your compliment. Once there a BB squeeze and the price moves into the the upper BB, the BB expands and the price tends to move in the direction of the trend. But the price may fall towards the mid- band before rising. So it may be better to buy the next day near the bottom.
It is good for a newbie to learn TA. You can learn one technical indicator at a time. Then you can use a combination of indicators that work best for you. Use TA with FA and not TA alone.
