My long term investment review

Which fund investment themes are you bullish on? Do you have any specific fund(s) in mind?
Are you looking at a specific industry/market/asset type? Why?
What is your latest fund investment plan? What are the reasons behind it?
The current macro conditions (high inflation, FED rate hike and recession) have crippled our will to invest in long term. In my previous post, I reveal plan to invest in long term to position myself when the economy recover hopefully by 2H this year. I'm look at 2 investment sectors:
1. Digitisation
Break through in Chatbot and quantum computer may result in related industry booms. It will ignite a chain reaction in other digital related industry such as cybersecurity and payment. I'm monitoring $Alphabet-A(GOOGL.US)$ and $Microsoft(MSFT.US)$. New terms (or products) may be appearing just to name a few: E- commerce vs AI-commerce, microchip vs Quantum chip and Tele-marketing vs Robo-marketing.
2. Medicine/Drug/Biomedical
This industry is fueled by 2 factors. First is war when occurs will cause medicine to sky rocket in demand. Ukraine-Russian war is an example. I forsee new conflict to arise in the near future. Second is aging population in many countries will imply diseases caused by aging will arise and therefore demand in medicine. If a global disease outbreak occur like the scale of COVID -19, medicine and drug will grow exponentially. I'm monitoring $Johnson & Johnson(JNJ.US)$ , $Moderna(MRNA.US)$ and $Pfizer(PFE.US)$ .
For diversification, you may consider related mutual fund or ETF. Example $Global X Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF(AIQ.US)$ and $Ishares Trust U.S. Pharmaceuticals Etf(IHE.US)$.
If you wish to invest,
1. Use DCA to avoid emotional stress caused by volatility.
2. Prepare enough emergency fund
3. Do your due diligence (DYODD).

  • 2bfreedom : Thanks for sharing.

  • ZnWCOP 2bfreedom: You're welcome undefined

  • TheWhiteCrow : Wow! Great input! I’m still new to the whole stock market thing so I welcome any input I can get. And the info you provided is some good stuff.  Thank you very much for sharing!

  • ZnWCOP TheWhiteCrow: Thanks for your comment. As a new investor, I suggest you set up an investment plan which should include risk appetite, emergency fund, investment goal etc. Enjoy the journey!

  • TheWhiteCrow ZnWCOP: Excellent thank you!  As of right now I have 3 investment/stock accounts. I use one for my long term investments (bonds/etfs) my other one is for like mid range investments and the third for something like a day trade account. But what I’ll do is follow your recommendations. I’ll adjust my accounts to reflect your suggestions. Thanks again!

  • ZnWCOP TheWhiteCrow: Before you follow anyone recommendation, always do your own due diligence. What we're sharing here is our experience and opinion, not financial advice.

  • TheWhiteCrow TheWhiteCrow: Reading through your comments you seem pretty savvy in the market. So may I ask your opinion? What do you think about APE?  I bought in at approximately $1.50. From what I gathered from others opinions most think it’s going to sky rocket. Would it be wise to continue to buy? Or should I just hold my positions and buy the dip ( if it comes). Just trying to get opinions from a bunch before I make my decision. Thanks for your time

  • TheWhiteCrow ZnWCOP: Oh ya absolutely, im only trying to get opinions from people that’s been in the market. But no I never just go off the word of just a few people

  • ZnWCOP TheWhiteCrow: On August 4, 2022, $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$ took Wall Street by surprise with the announcement of its “APE” special dividend after market close. APE or $AMC Preferred Equity Unit (APE.US)$ turned the company into a meme stock, who often refer to themselves as “apes” or “ape nation.”

I was given $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$ free share as reward but I sold it immediately as I don't like owning stock that I'm not familiar with. My goal is to invest in the company not the stock price.

  • MooMamaLlama : great strategy!! I agree, I'm also looking at biomed, think its going to have a nice little boom for the same reasons. Watching a doco about how Japan's birth rate is decreasing, population aging... similar story in other places... I think biomed is going well. Watching some smaller companies like $AgeX Therapeutics (AGE.US)$ and $SKYE BIOSCIENCE INC (SKYE.US)$ at the moment among others.

I reflected trading experiences by writing journals. My comments are for educational purposes not financial advice.
