SPY

I invested in SPY ETF. I understand this ETF tracks stocks in the S&P 500. I have lost $100s investing in SPY. I'm hoping I might cover my losses if the stock market eventually recovers back to pre covid health

  • Justin Zacks : SPY (SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust) is an exchanged-traded fund which tracks the performance of the S&P 500 index (SPX). XSP is the S&P 500 mini index, it is 1/10th the value of the SPX index.
Investing in the SPY provides exposure to over 98% of the market capitalization of the US stock market. It offers diversification and will generally track the movements of the overall US stock market. If you are buying the SPY you are bullish on the overall market. The market has been choppy recently as investors try to figure out how high the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates to combat high inflation.
