Hey mooers,
Welcome back to Mooers' insights, where we share knowledge and thoughts.
Last week, we discussed "Why did you start investing?" in Weekly Buzz. Let's see what mooers talk about!

The longer I invest before I retire, the more time my money has to grow.
@KT88
I started investing with the intention of not only generating a second source of revenue but may also assist me in curating inflation-beating returns. Aside from that, making regular investments instills a habit of saving money regularly, which helps me develop financial discipline over time.
I started investing to take better control of my financial future.
@lastnite24
As time started to pass by, I noticed that houses were skyrocketing to the point where it once again seemed unattainable to get a condo on a single income (as the amount I need for a down payment was increasing daily).
I wanted to retire early and live freely.
@meruson
I started my own business. Entrepreneurship is not easy, I landed a job and so I winded up my biz when my job stabilized. Investing is so much easier than entrepreneurship. Investing allows me to live fire and be free. I'm thankful. Wish fellow mooers will achieve fire too.
I think investing is the most interesting thing in the world.
@Syuee
I learned about trading and investing from my Father, and was immediately hooked. It's an intellectual challenge, it's very hard, and ultimately, success or failure depends 100% on oneself.It is a modern version of treasure hunting, where you look for gems, and get a nice reward, if you do it well!
Mooers' Insights: Why did you start investing?
Investing is an effective way to put my money to work and potentially build wealth.
@Double Rainbow
Smart investing may allow my money to outpace inflation and increase in value. The greater growth potential of investing is primarily due to the power of compounding and the risk-return tradeoff.
I wish I had started inventing earlier.
@Southern Eagle
I started with investments that are easily understandable and use that foundation to learn more and to develop my investment understanding and vocabulary over time. I crafted my own investment plan that works with my risk appetite.
I was just interested in practicing in the real stock market to test what I've learnt from books and classes.
@70227526
During my investment practice, I have learnt a lot of lessons( good and bad) from real world. I realized that I have not only gained investment knowledge and experiences, but also I could change my life financially.
I wanted to learn something new outside of my career or study learning objects.
@cola1010
It's a good learning experience for me to have this Moomoo platform to do paper trading (practice), be involved in the Moomoo community, and also earn money by investing. My next plan is to learn more about the options; this could be a good opportunity for me to explore.

  • meruson : merci beaucoup et bon courage

  • MooMamaLlama : Are you emotionally tied to any stock or company!??!!
    I certainly have a few 'babies' and have been emotional when they do well or have difficulty... the ones we hold long , watch or trade daily. Even out of stubbornness or impatience sometimes....like NO!👉 I know this will go up/dip soon!!

    OR.. the ones we don't care so much about, to be bought and sold with cold calculation using numbers and charts only?
    Some I use a combination, leave and come back to. Watching even of I'm not holding. Feeling gutted if I miss a run 🏃‍♀️ undefined
    Maybe I know it well, or have held for a while, but do not feel tied to. If it goes off, lovely. If not, just wait. Not impatiently either, just checking here n there. Wonder why I don't just cut it? 🤔maybe I AM kinda tied to it...
    But I digress...

    It can't be just me?! 🤣 can it? maybe it is?!🤦‍♀️
