$Berkshire Hathaway-A(BRK.A.US)$ $Berkshire Hathaway-B(BRK.B.US)$ released the latest quarterly report on Monday after the closing bell. The SEC filings shows Berkshire spent roughly $9 billion on the stock market in the third quarter. Here are the key trades:

Top Holdings

- $Apple(AAPL.US)$ is still the NO.1 holding by market value as well as by % of the portfolio. Berkshire has held Apple stock since Q1 2016.
- $Bank of America(BAC.US)$ is the NO.1 by the number of shares held.
- $Chevron(CVX.US)$, $Coca-Cola(KO.US)$, $American Express(AXP.US)$, $Occidental Petroleum(OXY.US)$, $The Kraft Heinz(KHC.US)$ are also on the top of the list.

Bought

- A new position in $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US)$(60,060,880 shares), $Louisiana-Pacific(LPX.US)$(5,795,906 shares) and $Jefferies Financial(JEF.US)$(433,558 shares).
- Increased existing position in $Chevron(CVX.US)$, $Occidental Petroleum(OXY.US)$, $Paramount Global-B(PARA.US)$, $Celanese Corp(CE.US)$ and $Restoration Hardware(RH.US)$.

Sold

- Trimmed existing position in $Activision Blizzard(ATVI.US)$, $Bank of New York Mellon(BK.US)$, $U.S. Bancorp(USB.US)$, $The Kroger(KR.US)$ and $General Motors(GM.US)$.
- Closed out the position in $STORE Capital Corp(STOR.US)$.

In the past quarter, Warren Buffett's stock purchases exceeded stock sales by $3.7 billion, including $2 billion invested in OXY stock. Berkshire Hathaway also repurchased $1.05 billion of its own shares, according to the data generated by Investor's Business Daily.

Amid Q3 volatility, Berkshire recorded a $10.5 billion loss on equity investments. Meanwhile, its cash hoard grew from $105.4 billion at the end of June to $109 billion at the end of September.
