Anyway, I've got a question. All these tech layoffs- $Meta Platforms(META.US$ , $Twitter (Delisted)(TWTR.US$ , are giving generous severance packages, seemingly an average of 3 months salary. More if you've worked there for years.
I know those amount they will incur in severance, perhaps a lawsuit or ten, won't be much, but here's my question. Do they take all that cost together in one quarter on their books?
Or are these layoff associated costs distributed as they're paid out? $SPDR S&P 500 ETF(SPY.US$ $Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US$

裕廊阿韭 : The payout is in the quarter. The layoff employees already lost access to office and systems upon notice. The notice period is paid off per the package. So the payment is happening within the month.
