Did u feel the rent falling? Are we close to the peak inflation & how to prepare for it?
The Zillow Observed Rent Index (ZORI) measures changes in asking rents over time, controlling for changes in the quality of the available rental stock in ways that other measures of rental prices cannot.
The chart shows a decline in the observed rent since April this year. However the CPI index for housing continue to rise from March to July this year. Personally I don't feel the rent falling and rent can be affected by other factors such as energy and food which are still soaring. Under the current macro condition (Ukraine-Russia war, Recession risk, strong dollar due to Fed rate hike etc), I don't think inflation has peaked.
I'd continue to my investment strategies against investment:
1. Reduce spending on non-essential items
2. Shift my portfolio to non-cyclical stocks such as energy and food and stocks that favour war such as medicine and oil
3. Invest in gold and previous metals 🪙
4. Increase emergency fund if necessary 💰
5. Place idle fund in cash fund or money market fund (stable earning without any lock up period)
Most importantly manage your mental and physical well being by exercising regularly 🏃🏻‍♀️, eat healthy food 🥗 and rest well 🧘🏻‍♀️😴.
