How many trades do you make in a single day?

Day Trade, Swing Trade, or Long Term?

Some days I will only make one swing trade. But on some days I will try to scalp some of the lower priced tickers that move very quickly with several trades in a day. And some days i cant find a trade to jump out of the screen at me so I do nothing for the day.
As a swing trader there is no need to make multiple traded every day. You can do just fine making one trade a day or a few trades a week. You can also do well making just a few trades a month or even a year. Its all about the percentage gained not the amount of trades you make. The transaction stats directly below show gains from one single options contract of $Coinbase(COIN.US)$ and one small allocation of $Imperial Petroleum(IMPP.US)$ I held these very small investments only overnight for some very short-term swing trades. You can even see in the picture below how I tried to jump into a day trade and lost a few dollars. You cant win them all ya know.

If you are a day trader or a scalper then it is a whole other story. I will make several transaction throughout the trading day scalping profits on the way up. I prefer swing trading as it feels a lot less taxing on my brain but sometimes I get bored and I see a stock that is running like crazy in pre-market and my FOMO kicks in.
The idea when day trading is to get in and out quickly. Once you enter a long position you want to start taking small pieces of profit little by little as soon as the position turns green. Don't sell the whole position right away but do take some profit off of the table and leave a little allocation until the trend turns against you. And at the end of the day just cover your position so your position cant get killed over night.
You can see an example of those days when I make multiple trades. The transactions are below.

This day of scalping was actually memorable because a lot of Moo'ers in the community that I follow were all communicating and trading the same tickers that day. We all got lucky and made some profit that day.

Remember that you don't need to make a trade every day to be profitable in the stock market. A lot if times it will pay off to be patient. So don't feel like you need to trade every day. Rushing into trades out of FOMO is one of the worst things you can do as an investor. Some of the most profitable trades will take a little time.
