I'm confident electric vehicles are going to be the mainstream vehicles in the next decade or two, and i was wondering what companies are looking to make big plays in the EV space, whether they are car producers or part manufacturers.
I think you're a couple years late to this realization. The 'big plays' in terms of car producers and part manufacturers have already been made. Tesla is still a play worth making (but not because of their automotive business). I'm not as optimistic on Ford as others here. Yes: they have a good EV thing going, but at the same time their ICE business is crumbling around their ears and the EV lineup isn't remotely making up for that.
If you really want to still profit off the EV sector then you need to look further afield: Raw materials or recycling.

China may be facing a severe political and economic crisis. They may be using the covid shutdowns to limit and control the protests that are surging all over the country.
