The share market suffered its biggest weekly loss since June as the heavily-weighted mining sector fell for a fifth day.
The $S&P/ASX 200(.XJO.AU$ seesawed in and out of positive territory before fading to a loss of 17 points or 0.25 per cent this afternoon.

For the week, the Australian benchmark fell 275 points or almost 3.9 per cent, its worst weekly result since a 6.6 per cent plunge in mid-June.
Gains today in property, banking and healthcare stocks were outweighed by declines in commodity stocks.
Financials was the pick of the sectors after touching a five-week low yesterday. $Macquarie Group Ltd(MQG.AU$ led with a rise of 1.58 per cent. $CommBank(CBA.AU$ gained 0.94 per cent, $ANZ Group Holdings Ltd(ANZ.AU$ 0.49 per cent, $National Australia Bank Ltd(NAB.AU$ 0.79 per cent and $Westpac Banking Corp(WBC.AU$ 0.8 per cent.

A pause in this week's rally in bond yields allowed room for recovery for select growth stocks. $Life360 Inc(360.AU$ popped 5.56 per cent. $Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd(CUV.AU$ gained 2.34 per cent.
Resource stocks spearheaded today's retreat. Among the heavyweights, $Fortescue Ltd(FMG.AU$ fell 2.49 per cent. $Rio Tinto Ltd(RIO.AU$ shed 2.52 per cent.

This week's fierce rally in uranium stocks ran into headwinds overnight. The $Global X Uranium ETF(URA.US$ reversed 4.58 per cent.
