Keppel Lands $2.9 Billion Contract to Construct One of the World’s Largest FPSOs
Singaporean shipbuilder Keppel Offshore & Marine $Keppel(BN4.SG$ has won a $2.9 billion contract to construct one of the world’s largest FPSOs for Brazil’s national oil company Petrobras.

Keppel Shipyard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (KOM), has been awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for Petrobras' P-80 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, worth approximately US$2.9 billion (S$4 billion).
This new generation of FPSO will minimize emissions through carbon capture and re-injection and energy recovery, Keppel Corp said in a release on Monday (Aug 15)
It is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026, the P-80 is the second FPSO to be built by KOM for Petrobras and to be deployed in the Buzios field in Brazil. the first, the P-78, is currently under construction at Keppel Shipyard. the P-80 project is on a progressive payment basis.
The statement states that P-80 will be one of the world's largest FPSOs, with a capacity of 225,000 barrels of crude oil, 12 million cubic meters of natural gas, and a storage capacity of 2 million barrels of crude oil per day. When completed, P-80 will be as large as Brazil's largest crude oil production platform.
