I am just providing my thoughts and want people to think. If you love AMC I understand. Please don't come at me with being a shill or whatever. I am just providing perspective and a little technical analysis.
Why did he announce APE with great earnings? If AMC only comes out with the numbers we are trading higher, but APE brought up questions, doubt and confusion which brings stock prices down. APE doesn't effect AMC until a vote so why announce while the price of stock has been doing so well? Adam consistently kills good price increases with selling stock for his retirement (last year), before that he brought up dilution for a vote, and now APE (DILUTION) among other things.
Do I see a quick recovery in AMC stock price?
Not really, now we have to wait to see what happens with APE and understand what AMC plans to do with it. Hedgefunds will use this to keep price down.
Yesterday AMC was breaking the down trend line from the 72 high, see chart below AH and PM we are back below that line.
Be ready for further downside.
Shorts don't have to cover, they will have to pay the dividend of .01 if they don't but they have time to get out and/or push price back down before they cover. Also share counts have happened in the past durning votes and even Adam has said he doesn't see massive synthetic shares. There's even a video of him saying the shorts most likely sold to retail back in June last year when billion of shares where traded.

AlphaWolf01 : Very incorrect, AA made a smart move as usual announcing this dividend as a 1 for 1, Failure to deliver of APES will be definitely happening as brokerages struggle to deliver the right amount of shares per client. In this case, the billions of FTD and synthetics will be shown when shareholders do not receive their APE shares and short hedge funds or short retails have to pay the price.
