I'm interested in very little income. These include AMD, Western, Alibaba-SW, and Lucid.

AMD's future will lift the lid on the chip industry. As ExxonMobil and Chevron's earnings grow, we can expect oil companies such as Marathon and Occidental Petroleum to perform well. For the highly competitive industry of electric vehicles, we can take a look at Lucid's earnings to understand their prospects. Finally, Alibaba-SW will share the proceeds on Thursday after being “blacklisted” by the US Securities and Exchange Commission — Foreign Company Accountability Act (“HFCAA”). It's interesting to learn how the benefits and prospects of “delisting” are being handled.

Earnings for the week beginning August 1, 2022

(Most of the chart below is taken from the Investment Network.)

Western

Western stocks have gained a lot of interest and price increases as Berkshire has invested over the past few quarters. Within a year, the price had risen by 151.92%. After hitting a 52-week high of 74.04 points, the current stock price is around 65.75 points, and we are about to enter the earnings week.

For future earnings, the earnings per share and revenue forecasts are 3.02 and 9.75B, respectively. With the good news from ExxonMobil and Chevron, we can expect the West to do well too. Are we entering the market too late? Currently, high oil prices will help energy companies. This should be Kangding due to the situation in Ukraine, which would be beneficial.

Aribaba-SW
I'm interested in very little income. These include AMD, Western, Alibaba-SW, and Lucid. AMD's future will lift the lid on the chip industry. As ExxonMobil and...
Alibaba-SW has fallen back to a recent low after being cited for delisting risks. The stock is down 52.21% from a year ago. Although the current price of 89.37 is still a long way from the 52-week low of 73.28, how the market will respond to its gains due to risk is an interesting question.

For future earnings on August 4, 2022, the earnings per share and revenue forecasts are 10.78 and 204.44B, respectively. Will Alibaba-SW try to avoid being delisted and bounce back from recent lows?

After a heavy week of FOMC rate hikes of 75 basis points and negative GDP growth in the second quarter, the market has risen sharply in the past few days.

Over the next week, we have a few new announcements that could impact the market:

China's manufacturing PMI (July 2022) was 49.0, far below the forecast of 50.4. As cities such as Wuhan enter a state of lockdown, we can expect production to be tight if more blockades are announced.
In the US, we expect a sharp drop in employment opportunities in June, and the unemployment rate for July will also be announced over the weekend. These will be one of the key considerations for the Federal Reserve in dealing with raging inflation and managing unemployment. There will also be a first unemployment claim report on Thursday, which will be part of the Federal Reserve's review
The US will also announce ISM non-manufacturing PM I (July) can see production sentiment.
Last but not least, crude oil inventories will also be a forward-looking indicator of economic consumption in the coming months.
I personally believe that after profits, interest rate hikes, and negative GDP growth, the market did not act irrationally. As a result, it is possible to sink and pull back the recent rebound. Let's not forget that the irrational state of the market may last longer than our solvency, so I recommend everyone to be careful. This could be a “dead cat rebound” before a bigger plunge.

News and my muse

The Chinese city of Wuhan has gone into lockdown after new cases have emerged as they continue to have zero tolerance.

There is no need to test China's determination towards Taiwan. You probably have a carrier, but know that a (computer) chip isn't right for you. We don't need man-made crises. Can America afford a new military and military front; economics?

US credit card debt reached a record high of $930 billion, with young Americans having the highest delinquency rate.

Notable challenges facing humanity are ageing, fuel, food, finance, fud, climate change, and others; supply chains. Is this an Arab Spring? When inflation ended, unrest began. Then, we'll witness the rise and fall of Ampere; the King's Fall & Ampere; Kingdom.

Inflation — too much money chasing too many goods. The upcoming decline in inflation is due to weaker demand (from reduced disposal revenue) & as well; lower fuel costs. Supply chains that limit supply still need to be improved.

Gordon Johnson shared his thoughts on the potential collapse of big tech via a series of tweets.

Revenue of $msft &; Despite disappointing earnings per share and revenue, Google soared in the aftermarket.

The first rule of investing is not to lose money.

We don't have to buy every kind of stock we love. For some businesses, it's better for us to continue as customers rather than investors. There are situations where we should invest, not customers. Other times, we can be bystanders rather than investors.

Sometimes the best deal is no deal.

Russia's complete shutdown of gas throughout Europe for a longer period of time may interact with infrastructure bottlenecks, generating very high prices &; some countries have severe shortages; parts of central and central; Eastern Europe is the most vulnerable.

S&1D; p500

From the one-dimensional diagram above and technical analysis (from the Investment Network), we can observe the following points:

The stochastic indicator is in the overbought region. As the price continues to soar, the indicator is likely to fluctuate within the overbought region. Let's pay special attention to this rally.
The MACD indicator is still in an upward trend, so we can expect the rebound to continue.
For the moving average (MA) of 50 & 200, we can note that Ma 200 is a “downtrend.” As the candle crosses MA 50, we can expect a short/medium term “rebound”.
For the exponential moving average (EMA), we saw a reversal to a bullish trend last week.

S&; P500 (Investment Network) Technical Analysis

From the technical analysis above (from the investment network), we can observe the following points:

Using a technical analogy sis (from an investment network), moving averages and technical indicators all point to a strong buy for S&; P500.
Since Ma 200, the market has been on a “sell” recommendation.
Support ranges from 4150 to 4200. A breakthrough from this region could mean a longer rebound.
Of the 12 technical indicators, 3 showed “overbought,” and one was ATR (14) which suggests less volatility.
Personally, here are my thoughts for the week ahead:

Generally, the market falls after interest rate hikes. This usually causes the market to shift to value stocks rather than growth stocks.
Generally, a second consecutive drop in GDP means a “technical recession,” and the market is wary of it.
After earnings, Google's earnings per share and revenue fell short of market expectations. However, since the results were announced, the stock has shown continuous gains.
As part of my diversified investments, I invest in non-US markets, with an emphasis on Asia.
While the technical factors seemed to be favorable, the above “concerns” led me to exercise restraint.
This probably means I might miss the chance to buy shares at a great discount. However, I think it is more appropriate to act prudently during this time. We are still able to make money on “short” trades, but I'm not planning to invest.
With the “threat” of war between mainland China and Taiwan, I think we need to be cautious because crude oil hit $100 per barrel over the weekend and then returned to the $90+ region

Ukrainian crop calendar

Russia and Ukraine are developing a “safe” channel so that food can be exported to Ukraine to free up granaries to receive food from current cultivation — the harvest will expire in about 2 months.
Russia has no fertilizer due to the March sanctions, so it would be interesting to know the impact of the war and fertilizer shortages on Ukrainian food production. It is widely expected that this figure will be much lower, so this will spread to the commodities market.
For the US, we need to monitor how extreme weather affects their agricultural production — from the Yosemite fires, Kentucky floods, heatwaves, and more. In the face of a surge in Covid cases, this will also put more pressure on supply chains, supplies, utilities, and infrastructure.
Air travel has always been challenging — it's a tough industry to handle capacity as flights are cancelled, luggage is lost, and fuel costs rise.
For stocks like Alibaba-SW, I might wait until profits are made before continuing with my DCA.
I'm sure we may be one of a brief rebound, but expect a bigger decline. So I recommend everyone to make the most of their money, invest with money we can afford, and save “cash in case it crashes” to buy great companies at good discounts.
