SIBZPC TeslaSmurf: I’m not familiar with this Berlin Giga factory. Is it very old and need retooling? They normally do that with old factories….
TeslaSmurf : Not Berlin, Shanghai, which is three years old with a nominal capacity of 450k cars, but in the meantime they have built much more structures in the same area and the whole stuff needs to be reorganized and retooled to the ultimate standards to DOUBLE the nominal output.
TeslaSmurf : You see… while VolksWagen is PLANNING to adapt their OLD Wolfsburg factory to the EV production by 2025-2026, Tesla is constantly renovating its production facilities, as soon as they study new ways to get more efficiency and more output. That’s why they need 3 TIMES more to build a VW ID4 than a Tesla model Y and that’s why, at a similar price Tesla makes 30% margin on each car and VW almost ZERO…
