You already know

For those of us who have been in the game for over 10 years. We saw this coming but unfortunately, there are a lot of people who are still focused on the news cycle of a constant array of dizzying headlines from inflation to grocery prices to who was going to have control of Twitter.
All of these distractions take your focus away from the fundamentals and the technicals of the stock market's underlying indexes. It's very easy to lose focus and forget your number one rule as Warren Buffett said it's to buy when there's blood on the streets.
One thing to keep in mind is your own personal response to how you handle news headlines and couple that with how you manage your risk tolerance. I take a very clear-eyed approach knowing that historically another 75% basis point interest rate increase is a very real possibility. and because of that I'm focused on looking at buying high quality long-term diversified group of stocks and indexes that will weather the storm. things that are disruptive in nature that we use every day and at a very well positioned to survive a economic slowdown. I think about something like PayPal or possibly a few indexes that deal with being broadly based across various sectors of the stock market such as the s&p and also certain sectors that have been beaten down that historically have been resilient over the long term such as healthcare. that's my plan to focus on buying these components of my long-term portfolio based upon fundamentals technicals and looking at the 50-day moving average versus the 20 and 10 day moving average.
