Singtel subsidiary Optus may be listed in Australia
Singtel's Australian subsidiary, Optus, may be listed in Australia through an initial public offering.
The Australian newspaper, The Australian, cited sources as reporting that the total value of Australis' IPO plans ranged from A$8 billion (approximately S$7.67 billion) to A$12 billion. Investment banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are involved in the initial public offering.
Optus' operating revenue for the year to the end of March fell by 5.8% year-on-year to A$7,836 million. Operating earnings before tax (EBIT) rose 32% year-on-year to A$249 million.
SingTel has announced that from next month, Optus Enterprise, which was part of SingTel's corporate business, will be managed directly by Optus.
