Alibaba-backed self-driving startup DeepRoute.ai is making deliveries for courier Deppon
Deppon, a Chinese courier company backed by e-commerce heavyweight JD.com, has had autonomous vehicle startup DeepRoute.ai hauling cargo for it on several routes in Shenzhen as part of a newly publicized partnership between the two companies. The company claimed that 100% of shipments have been delivered on time.
DeepRoute secured $300 million in a funding round led by Alibaba last September and is also backed by venture capitalists such as GSR Ventures.
