Elon Musk "Super bad feeling", is tesla still a buy?

$Tesla(TSLA.US)$ $NIO Inc(NIO.US)$ $Li Auto(LI.US)$ $XPeng(XPEV.US)$ Recently Elon Musk made a comment that he had a super bad feeling about the economy that contributed a small part in bring the market to a dip on Friday.

Is the US economy on the verge of collapsing? What do you think? This is my amateur opinion that if you listen and follow blindly could possibly make you lose money.

Is the economy really going to recession, on the verge of collapse? I think No. In fact far from it. Looking at all the index on Labour, Consumer spending and Manufacturing seems to indicate the US still had a very roboust and surplus economy. Far from heading to recession.
If it is doing too well then are we expecting the Feds to rein in more tightening policies that would rattle the economy? I would also think no. Not at least for the next few months. When fed decided to tighten the monetary policies during march to tame the inflation, beside a strong domestic demand there is also 2 crisis at hand. Ukraine war that brought about an energy crisis and China lockdown that may subject US to some goods shortage. Monetary policies are crude tools that doesn't have a precision dial. And often once a policy is taken, it would take some time to see the results. So likely the feds is going to hold on and see how things go now that Saudi Arabia has agreed to release more oil and China has lifted the lockdown. Oil is a very important resources for the production of fertilizer and almost everything else. So before we know how it affects the US economy. You might never know this could gradually diminished the inflation without more tightening. But what is certain is they would likely be sticking to what they already plan in the meantime and likely no further tightening is expected for the next 2-3 months.

So is tesla a buy? My noobish thinking is that yes. Last week when it dropped to $700 I am really tempted to get some. Although Tesla is facing newer competition in China but around the world, Tesla is largely unopposed. Other that Nio who had been setting up nation wide infrastructure in Europe, they are still in far behind in the catch up with Tesla. There is still a huge market for EV around the world as more countries are enacting law that transit to full EV. I think Tesla has great potential to head back to the $1000.
